Did you know sound recognition begins in the womb? Foundations classes are all about exploring and reacting to new sounds, objects, and movements. Plus, parents and caregivers heighten connections with their babies by learning bonding techniques.

The Foundations class is so much more than lullabies and swaying. We teach families how sound exploration, listening activities, and dances help babies communicate, stimulate eye-tracking skills, and learn to move and coordinate new muscles.
At the tender age of 3, my heart was captured by the timeless melodies of Elvis Presley, igniting a lifelong love affair with music! It seeped down deep into my bones and made me move! From that moment on, music became my passion, my comfort, and my motivation. I began piano lessons at a young age, sang in choirs, participated in highschool musicals, experimented with clarinet and saxophone, took vocal lessons and competed in the local Kiwanis Music Festivals. I worked for a number of summers in a residential facility for the mentally and physically handicapped, in the Drop-in Centre which was all about music, arts, and crafts. I graduated post-secondary school as a Registered Nurse, and I was known on my unit of the hospital as The Singing Nurse. I worked on the side with a child with autism, as I myself had a sister with severe autism, and I have a special love for kids with special needs. As the years passed by, I started my own family, and my children are now 19, 16, and 13 years old. As a couple of them had special needs, I gave up my career to raise and educate them at home, with our music program being my favourite subject to teach. Through the years I have also taught the children's bible lessons at church, and I was a magician working gigs at school, Brownies & Sprite gatherings, a senior's home, and many private birthday parties. When I discovered Kindermusik, I wished I had found it years earlier for my own children, and I love having the opportunity to be part of an award-winning music curriculum that meets children at their own level, and helps them learn through music, movement, and bonding. My favourite part of being a Kindermusik Educator, is watching the children -- who may be timid at first, blossom before my eyes. I may be leading out, but I am blessed to have a front row seat to helping little ones find their passion in music, and facilitating this special time between parent and child.
