To enroll a second child/sibling, please enroll separately. The sibling discount will automatically show on the second child's registration page. Saturday morning classes meet ONCE A MONTH in Longview September through May. Go to http://www.kindermusikwithdonnis.com/playdates for dates, info and registration.

Although you may join our classes at any time throughout the year, we encourage you to register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Registering before classes are scheduled to begin also ensures that you have access to digital music, story and activities before the first class (ages NB-5 only). Please be aware that cancellations or changes can occur during the last few weeks or even days of registration.

Any refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. There is a non-refundable $67 administrative fee for processing refunds if no 2-week advance notice is given.

Make-up Classes:

Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness/emergency. Families will be notified of the cancellation and scheduled make-up day. There will be no refund or class credit available if a family is unable to attend a teacher-initiated make up class. Kindermusik enrollment entitles you and your child a reserved spot in the class, regardless of attendance. However, one make-up class per Fall, Spring & Summer will be available at a Saturday Playdate or other Kindermusik with Donnis location if needed. In some cases, a 2nd make-up can be offered at another playdate or location if space is available. Parent would need to check with educator a few days before the requested class.

When to arrive:

Please plan to arrive on time or 5 minutes earlier so that you and your child can make the most of our Gathering or Sharing Time.

Healthy and Happy Guidelines:

If you or your child has fever of 100.4 or higher, please wait 24 hours of being fever-free before returning to the classroom.

UPON ENTERING THE CLASSROOM:

Please stop by the restroom to wash you and your child(ren)’s hands with soap and water.

There will also be MANDATORY HAND SANITIZER for you to apply to you and your child(ren)’s hands.

NOTE: I sanitize ALL hard-surfaced instruments with Clorox Anywhere and launder all soft-surface instruments and manipulatives before and after each class.

What and what not to bring:

Please do NOT bring food and drinks into the classroom. Their presence is a distraction to other children and spilled drinks or food can cause accidents. If your child needs a drink please go into the hallway area. Try not to bring your child to class hungry! Children will need to have their hands free to hold musical instruments. Please leave toys, etc. at home or in the car. FAMILY CLASS EXCEPTION: I will have stuffed animals available at all times for children needing comfort or extra exploration. Kindermusik babies (not yet crawling or sitting up) might need a soft towel or blanket to lie on during class. Barefoot is best for children’s sensory development. Therefore, please remove shoes upon entering the class. Please turn your cell phones on silent during class. KINDERMUSIK MUSICIANS CLASS children will have designated items that need to be brought to class each week.

Non-enrolled Siblings:

Due to limited class sizes and unique class settings, our classes are unable to accommodate non-enrolled siblings. It is ideal for a parent to bring only the enrolled child(ren) to class in order to give full attention to that child(ren) and fully participate in class. Emergency situations are considered however on an individual basis, so please ask if a non-enrolled sibling must "tag along".

Free Visits:

First-time parent & child are welcome to attend a FREE preview class throughout each session. I am happy to schedule free visits in our classes for prospective families and friends of those families enrolled in class. Please call me at 903-407-0441 or email kwdonnis@gmail.com.

Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes:

The most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active but patient role model. Your child may not follow the teacher at first, but they will follow you. In fact, many children often take several classes to begin to feel comfortable in class. Don't be discouraged - what is most important is what the children do musically at home. The understanding and consistency of the parent or caregiver both in class and at home is key to the process of musical learning and growth being facilitated.

It is recommended that parents of KINDERMUSIK MUSICIANS students attend the last 15 minutes of the class for Sharing Time and for any assignment instructions (ages 5-7).

We understand that these young children are still learning how to interact in a group setting, but we must ask that you be sensitive not to compromise the safety or enjoyment of others in class. If your child is having difficulty focusing or participating, gently redirect his or her attention. If your child becomes disruptive (crying, screaming, running - it happens to all of us!), please step outside of the classroom to give your child a moment to calm. Do come back in as soon as you can!

By the way, we love for additional ADULT family members to visit a class from time-to-time. When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully too.

You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your research-based digital music, storybook and activities on your my.kindermusik.com parent portal and Kindermusik app. Frequent reinforcement at home each week makes all the difference in a child's comfort and participation in the classroom.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS & GUIDELINES WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU UPON RECEIPT OF ENROLLMENT.
