This is year 1 of a 2 year Kindermusik Musicians (formerly Young Child) class. Kindermusik Musicians is an incredibly enriched 2-year musical learning journey which will teach your child to be a confident, musically literate, note-reading, beat-keeping, ensemble savvy, composing, improvising, lesson-ready music maker! When kids learn big concepts in groups, it’s more likely to stick. Kindermusik Musicians classes introduce music notation, new and complex instruments, and different genres of music. Children participate in ensembles while improving their problem-solving and pre-literacy skills.
Kindermusik Musicians Year 1 classes provide children with a strong foundation of music skills in an engaging group learning environment. Through movement activities, games, stories, and ensemble play, they learn how to read and compose with music notation, play individually and within ensembles on a variety of instruments (like the glockenspiel!), experience multiple music genres, and much more! Self-confidence, teamwork, and fine and gross motor skillss, are just some of the developmental areas a Kindermusik Musicians Year 1 experience propels.
Upon enrollment your credit card will be charged for the $60.00 home materials, then your monthly charge of $72.00 will be automatically charged Sept - May at the first of the month. Tuition includes 28 fall & spring classes, and access to Kindermusik streaming digital music and books. Your enrollment can be canceled at anytime with a 14 day notice. Families may also request to "PAUSE" subscription enrollment for a particular month in special circumstances for a $20 fee to hold their spot in their class. This Kit includes: Fiddlesticks, Glockenspiel with mallets, Glockenspiel Book, and Game Pieces Packs in a Kindermusik purple bag. Designs may vary.

Donnis Payne Henderson has been working with children for most of her life. While in college, Mrs. Henderson taught private saxophone lessons in the Beaumont, TX area. She received two Bachelor degrees in Music Education, Vocal & Instrumental, from Lamar University, December 1989. Upon graduation, Henderson began an 11-year career as a band director in Kingwood, TX, then onto Aldine I.S.D. in Houston. Mrs. Henderson also served as church music director and children's choir director in the Humble, Texas area for 6 years. She made the move to a full-time mom and Kindermusik educator in September 2001. Since that time, she has found Kindermusik to be a wonderful way to continue to teach children through music and movement and maintain close connection with her husband & three handsome sons. Mrs. Henderson truly enjoys the joy and rapid whole-body development that Kindermusik brings to each & every child.

WELCOME! Welcome to Kindermusik @ School classes! The Kindermusik experience is a process that will enrich and stimulate your child’s life musically, intellectually, and socially. It is my privilege to work with you to facilitate the Kindermusik experience. The parents in our program are a very important part of the success of the Kindermusik curriculum. There is some wonderful information included with your child’s digital materials that provides an explanation of the Kindermusik philosophy and offers helpful suggestions for home. I encourage you to read over this information thoroughly at least once a week. BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE KINDERMUSIK APP on all of your devices. All of your class music and stories will be on the app. Kindermusik is a thoughtful choice for seven magnificent, musical years. It introduces your child to the adventure of music and then moves at his pace, pausing to engage his interests, nurture his gifts, and celebrate his discoveries. Kindermusik gives you and your child the time and tools to bring the power of music into your life at home and into her life forever. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT: Upon registration, your child is enrolled on a monthly subscription-based enrollment until withdrawal or graduation from the school, with a minimum of a 9-MONTH commitment. A 2-week notice is required when a student is withdrawing. Tuition & materials include new digital activities for you & your child to enjoy every 4 classes, as well as 28 classes every 9-month period. Online materials consist of class song downloads (as well as the Kindermusik app), musical eBooks, educational videos & games and parenting tips. Monthly tuition installments are automatically deducted each month from the card on file when registering. Monthly installments are $57 on the date specified in your enrollment confirmation, after a $57 annual registration and materials fee. Payments unable to be drafted after the 10th of the month are subject to a $10 late fee. There is a $10 discount per month for siblings in the SAME CLASS.
WHY THE MINIMUM OF A 9-MONTH COMMITMENT? All Kindermusik curriculum is research-based and is designed with a different theme every 4 classes. Each lesson builds different areas of development and strengthens multiple neurological pathways. Between ages 2 1/5 – 5 years, your student has the potential to experience 144 different lessons. The longer your child is engaged in Kindermusik classes, the more they learn and grow in all areas, including school readiness. We encourage families to stick with the program all the way through their preschool years to receive the best developmental benefit and experience.
REFUNDS: Enrollment is active until a requested, eligible cancellation (see REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT info above). A two week notice is required when dropping. If the cancellation date falls mid-month, a family will be credited for classes unattended from that date. If your child is not attending the school for the summer months, please be sure to let your Kindermusik educator know 2 weeks before the last day of school before summer. In some cases, your child’s spot can be held during the summer months off for a nominal fee. (This option is available ONLY IF your child is not enrolled at the dayschool for the summer months.)
MAKE-UP CLASSES: Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up day.
