My name is Deanna Bucci, and I took my first Kindermusik class when I was four years old! I grew up in a musical family- playing instruments, singing, and acting in community theater. Like my parents and sisters before me, I went to college for Music Education and taught General Music K-2 for 8 years in New Jersey. In that time, I became passionate about the need to focus on social and emotional learning in children, and wanted to do more for children than I could outside my classroom and school. After completing my Masters in School Administration in May 2017, I found my way to Kindermusik- combining my love of music and whole-child development. I then moved near my sister in North Carolina to work mainly for Kindermusik International as a Music Curriculum designer. I also took the Kindermusik University training to become a licensed Kindermusik educator, so that I may continue to teach while also having the opportunity to use what I learn in the classroom to inform my position as a curriculum designer. I am proud to work for a company that puts the development of children and importance of family first, and am excited to help others experience the powerful benefits of music and movement for their children.
In every Kindermusik class, you’re welcomed into a playful and nurturing environment where your child will experience music of varying styles, genres, and cultures. They’ll interact with other children and engage in movement, rhythm, and vocal activities that develop far more than just music skills. Our approach to early childhood education and award-winning, research-based, and developmentally appropriate curricula prime children for success in school and in life.
Dress Code
Dress comfy and cozy. We will be moving and making music so the more relaxed you and your children are, the happier you will be.
Barefoot is Best
Upon arrival, please place your shoes, coats, and all other extras in the designated area to the side. Wearing socks or going barefoot is preferable for cleanliness as well as benefits for your child's motor development. Safety in the Studio
Rules of the studio must be followed for the safety of each caregiver and child. Where the children will be aloud to roam about, they must still be supervised and cared for at all times to prevent harm to himself or herself or another child. Failure to follow the studio rules will result in removal from the environment.
Your Child's Participation
Children are different and every child will learn and grow at their own pace. It is perfectly normal for children to participate fully, some, or not at all. Please allow them to experience Kindermusik how they feel best to fit their needs. This is new and exciting to them! Children to meet, music to play, and special time with just you are just some of the exciting things happening in Kindermusik class. However your child chooses to participate, they will be learning as long as they are in the studio.
Your Participation
The true benefits of this class for you and your child happen as you engage in the music-making together. We like to say "cellphones away, so we can play!" Take the 45-minutes to focus on your child and enjoy this special time together. You can always come before or after class to converse extra with the other families and adults, which is highly encouraged. :)
Adult Guests and Other Children
Caregivers are welcome to bring adult guests into the studio. They may participate or simply enjoy from afar. Older children, who are able to sit/watch or entertain themselves quietly to the side, are also welcome to watch. Remember: we aim for our classes to remain a special time between caregiver and the child the class was designated for. If you must bring another child, please contact the teacher prior to class to discuss.
Tardiness
With classes only being 45 minutes in length, we will start promptly. If you must be late, there’s no need to worry or rush- please just come in and join as gracefully as possible!
Payment
Families can pay online, through the Kindermusik website, at the beginning of a session. Late payments result in not being able to attend class until the payment is made. If an alternate payment method is needed, please speak with the educator directly.
Cancellations/Refunds
To cancel your class, you must contact the educator before the first class of your session has begun. Tuition for the entire session will not be refunded after the first week of classes has begun nor will a refund be given for individual classes if a family cannot or did attend a class. Your payment covers the materials and reserves your spot for the entire session.
Make-Up Classes
We understand that life happens, and sometimes you do need to miss class. We will hold make up classes every 8 weeks of classes to give everyone additional opportunities to get a complete experience.
Teacher Cancelations
If a teacher has to cancel a class, every member will be notified via email at least 24 hours in advance. In case of emergency (less than 24 hours), members will be notified via text as well. These classes will be promptly rescheduled. No refunds will be given if you cannot make the rescheduled. In this case, contact the educator to obtain information for the next make up class.
Snow Days/Delays
If there are school closures, we too will close. If there are delays, we will carry on with our classes. Emails will be sent if there must be a cancellation due to weather, and a reschedule of the class will be made.
Sick Days
If you or your child are sick, please STAY HOME! This is to include: fever, throwing up, rashes, constant runny nose, etc. Please allow your child to get better before bringing them or yourselves back to class as to not continue the spread germs. Contact the educator and find out about a make up class.
Enjoy this time you have with your children. They are only this small and precious once. Watching them learn and grow is the greatest feeling in the world. Let’s make some great music and get to know these kids the best we can!
Thank you for choosing Kindermusik!
