This class focuses on jazz technique and incorporates the sharp and synchronized movements of Pom style dance used by sports dance teams. This class geared toward the physical and emotional levels of young children. An emphasis is placed on having fun and a positive self image. This class will work on dance skills to aid coordination, rhythm, and include a variety of games and props for creativity and expression. Our staff aims to provide an educational approach.
Courtney Powers
Courtney Powers is a mathematics teacher at Cabell Midland High School. She graduated summa cum laude from Marshall University and a semester early in December 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Secondary Education. Courtney began taking dance classes at Premiere Dance Studio when she was 2 years old and continued there until she graduated from high school. While in school, she began teaching dance at Premiere. She is experienced in styles such as ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary. Music and dance have always had a great influence in her life and she is looking forward to sharing the joy they bring to eager students.
