Junior Chef is a beginning cooking camp for children ages 3.5-6 years of age. While music is not the primary focus of the camp, it will still be a big part of our process!
This camp will focus on the following developmentally appropriate Kitchen Skills:
Hand washing
Proper food handling
Appropriate Kitchen Utensil names and usage (child safe knives will be used almost weekly!)
Cleaning up work spaces as needed
Gaining confidence in the ability to assist families in the preparation of meals
Making informed/conscious decisions about foods and their nutritional values.
All necessary kitchen utensils/supplies are included in the cost of the camp and will be provided the first week. They will need to be brought back each week for use in camp. They are the children's to keep upon completion of the six weeks.
$275 includes all materials and tuition for the six weeks of camp.

Shawna has a deep love and passion for Kindermusik and the wonderful philosophy that lays the foundation for the program. A licensed educator since July of 1999, Shawna teaches all levels of Kindermusik and enjoys working with all ages and abilities of children. She is proud of her previous roles as a Kindermusik Mentor, a position that allowed her train and work with potential new educators for Kindermusik International and her three-year term on the Sound Board, serving fellow educators and Kindermusik International as a liaison. The Kindermusik of Lincoln Studio continues to be named a Maestro Studio, being recognized as one of the top 5% studios in the world, most recently in 2022. Shawna is happily married to her high-school sweetheart, Troy and they have been blessed with three wonderful children. "I've always said that I don't really have a "job", it's more of the ultimate play date every single day with the coolest kids on the planet." My plan is to teach until I'm unable to get up off the floor. Luckily, after 23 years, I'm still able hop up to move and groove with the kids!
Edenton Christian Church, located at 7001 Edenton Rd.

Please use the doors that have the concrete steps leading up to them. Refrain from using the main doors of the church. If your class is the first class of the day, the doors will be unlocked no more than 10 minutes prior to the start of your class. If you are entering the building while another class is in session, please wait in room E, not in the main hallway area. As there are often other programs/meetings going on throughout the day, please be respectful of the rooms we are permitted to use by cleaning up after yourself and your child, making sure your children are not wandering the hallways unattended and to always take dirty diapers to the outdoors trash can or dispose of them at home.
