Kindermusik Foundations

The Foundations class is so much more than lullabies and swaying. We teach families how sound exploration, listening activities, and dances help babies communicate, stimulate eye-tracking skills, and learn to move and coordinate new muscles.

  • Movement Control
Different movement activities help babies strengthen their core muscles, which increases their sense of balance and control over movements.
  • Social Adaptability
Group activities allow babies to experience familiar and unfamiliar social experiences in a safe and secure way.
  • Listening and Communication Skills
Listening to music and doing vocal play exercises helps develop a baby’s back-and-forth communication skills.
  • Language and Literacy Development
Introducing spoken sounds and rhythms through songs and rhymes helps support language and literacy development.
Ms. Jo

Ms. Jo

Ms.Jo graduated from University of Toronto with a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance. Her performing career has seen her travel and play with many different orchestras and festivals in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Canada and the United States. When she became a mother of an active little boy, she searched for a music program for babies and toddlers that is fun, developmentally effective, and educational. Kindermusik met all the criteria she was looking for and offered more than what she thought was possible to achieve through an early childhood music program. Kindermusik brings families together and helps babies grow into happy, healthy, and thoughtful individuals. She immediately fell in love with the program and decided to become an educator herself. She has been teaching and spreading the love of music for more than 20 years, and becoming a Kindermusik educator was a natural path for her. She is currently teaching violin at Toronto Sistema in a TDSB school, positively impacting youth at risk through music education. After completion of an extensive four month Kindermusik training program, she is excited to offer this fantastic program right in her neighbourhood, The Junction, and also The Junction Triangle. She is a strong advocate of community support for young growing minds. A portion of the Kindermusik With Jo tuition fee will be donated to Sistema Toronto, who are dedicated to providing musical and intellectual opportunities to children in vulnerable communities, with the goal of transformative social change.
