Did you know sound recognition begins in the womb? Foundations classes are all about exploring and reacting to new sounds, objects, and movements. Plus, parents and caregivers heighten connections with their babies by learning bonding techniques.
The Foundations class is so much more than lullabies and swaying. We teach families how sound exploration, listening activities, and dances help babies communicate, stimulate eye-tracking skills, and learn to move and coordinate new muscles.
Hello! My name is Sheri Bird and I live in Brownville, NY. I am a NYS permanently certified N-6 Elementary Teacher with a Master's Degree in Reading/Literacy and I have always had a love of music. As a youngster, I played piano, sang and played all of the percussion insturments, including drums in my school marching band. I have ALWAYS incorporated music into my teaching experiences, as I feel that it has so many added benefits to a child's development. I've taught various age levels of children, including Kindergarten/Pre-K and also music to children at my church and I am currently the choir director/ organist at the Brownville United Methodist Church and also play for the Dexter United Methodist Church. I absolutely LOVE teaching young children because of their excitement to learn new things. I am excited to bring Kindermusik to the Northern, NY area as it is a wonderfully well-rounded program that touches upon every aspect that is important in a child's development. I have sang to my children since they were babies, and I know how music can affect a young child's life..... emotionally, socially, and developmentally. :)
In every Kindermusik class, you’re welcomed into a playful and nurturing environment where your child will experience music of varying styles, genres, and cultures. They’ll interact with other children and engage in movement, rhythm, and vocal activities that develop far more than just music skills. Our approach to early childhood education and award-winning, research-based, and developmentally appropriate curricula prime children for success in school and in life.
