About the role

As VP of Product and Brand Management you will be charged with managing the entire Kindermusik product line. This is a new position that reports directly to the CEO and will be a part of the senior leadership team. This critical position works to increase the profitability of existing products and identify new products for the company. You will expand on products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. This position will be accountable for managing the product life cycle for the school, studio and for a new, direct to consumer market.

You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for KI product offerings and brand steward. You will be working with the sales channels, educators and key customers. You will work with our external agency to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product and brand positioning, key benefits, and target customer.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. This position requires an understanding of P&L management, processes of bringing new products to market utilizing cross-functional teams and interfacing with the company Board of Directors.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Product Management – Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to product specifications and product performance. Work closely with cross -functional team on product development. Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and non-customers. Establish product criteria, pricing, margins pricing strategy and go to market plans. Ensure the right product mix to service each channel of distribution.
  • Strategic Planning – Partner with CEO to architect an integrated and comprehensive global product and marketing strategy, focused on brand leadership and maximizing shareholder value. Collaborate with Channel Managers for School and Studios businesses to deliver channel plans and products to maximize revenue. Work as the lead on the Direct-to-Consumer market to develop Kindermusik products for the home through Kindermusik’s eCommerce platform.
  • Agency Liaison – Work with CEO and agency to build a comprehensive advertising, social media and digital plan for Kindermusik International. Work with agency and various outsource providers to deliver impactful print and video communications ensuring all Kindermusik International impressions reflect the brand definition and logo guidelines.
  • Segmentation and Targeting – This position will be responsible for overseeing Research and Insight efforts to uncover actionable and important customer insights that can be leveraged across Product development, Marketing and Sales. This position will be accountable for maintaining research archives and providing periodic training of internal teams on Kindermusik’s research findings and insights.
  • Brand Stewardship – Serve as a passionate steward, advocate and gatekeeper (governance, compliance with Brand Standards, etc.) for the Kindermusik brand and its highly regarded and differentiated brand equity in the business of early childhood development and music education. Champion ongoing refinement of the brand’s product positioning derived from a data-driven foundation to ensure Kindermusik retains its premium market position. Develop a deep understanding of the Kindermusik brand tenets, as well as a keen understanding of the marketplace to inform the product and marketing strategy for the organization.

Performance & Success Measures

  • Revenue, EBITDA (year-over-year increases)
  • Research metrics (awareness, consideration, equity and NPS)
  • Success metrics (ROI, NPV) on new product launches and product revisions

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in traditional marketing and product management.
  • Current experience in digital marketing and understanding of customer acquisition/retention, web presence and messaging, understanding of retargeting, SEO/SEM, email campaign development, etc.
  • Able to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial organization that is managing change in marketplace frequently
  • Service experience is a plus. Ideally, candidates will have experience marketing a branded service requiring a high level of involvement with studio educators and school administrators.
  • Must be an innovative thinker that understands how to manage with limited resources and prioritize work load to maximize company impact.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of marketing/product management experience.
  • College Degree in Marketing or related field
  • MBA a plus
  • Children’s products and/or educational products a plus

About the role

As an International Customer Service and Support Associate, you will be charged with assisting existing international franchisees and distributors with operations and expansion needs. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Location: Greensboro, NC

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage day-to-day operational needs for existing international partners – franchisees, distributors, educators and schools.
  • Prepare and track contracts and legal documents; work with international legal representatives
  • Coordinate order processing requirements with independent international contractors and customers
  • Be responsible for retention of international school and music studio accounts; complete contract renewals
  • Work with KI team to ensure all required communications reach international partners and customers
  • Screen new lead opportunities and assign to appropriate partner or CEO
  • Respond to questions and concerns from international customers, contractors and partners
  • Track international sales and provide periodic reports
  • Coordinate projects regarding creation and revision of international support platforms and manuals
  • Coordinate training events for international partners, schools and educators
  • Conduct international market research to assess new international opportunities

Essential Education, Experience, Skills, and Competencies               

This position requires the following:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with international franchise or distributor clients
  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Grace under pressure, and the ability to prioritize amongst multiple competing demands on any given day
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience working and/or traveling abroad
  • Some evening, early morning meetings with international partners
  • Fluency in at least one foreign language is preferred

Job Description

This full time position will be part of a small, but growing, internal support team working with both domestic and international sales teams and customers.

The Schools Customer Support Associate works in a team environment under the direction of the Schools Support Manager, and in partnership with the Schools Sales Consultants. This role is responsible for customer communications and support including inbound and outbound calls, order management, new account setup, and data entry. The ideal candidate will possess great interpersonal skills, an ability to understand and simplify complicated processes, and the desire to help prove the best solutions for the parent, teacher, and administrative customer.
